No Filter

My parents have quite a few pictures of us kids all dressed up for church in front of 1016 Douglas Street.  Most of them have at least one child (me) sticking their tongue out, or not looking at the camera.  One of my favorites is a picture of Em, Nick and me sitting on their gray couch in the living room because I was George's age and he looks just like me.
So the other day we were driving home from church and I was having a wonderful "motherly" moment.  All my kids were peaceful in the back seat.  Sadie wasn't poking anyone, Jack wasn't "breathing too loud" and George wasn't screaming "butt side" (fox song) like a broken record.  I looked back at those three angelic faces and was just overwhelmed with love for them.  I wanted to capture this moment so I tried to take a picture of them on the front steps looking all dapper in their Sunday clothes when we got home.

This is the best picture I could get.
Something happened the second the car pulled into the garage.  They immediately turned into little monsters.  I guess I shouldn't have tried to take their picture in the sun.  Poor things.

Looking back, a posed picture of all of them smiling wouldn't have been nearly as fun anyway.

Heart Day!!

We opened up Valentine's Day celebrating at the Darger's.  Us Mormons got a big kick out of the 'mocktails." Love our friends here.  After playing some "revealing" couple games, I love them even more.

I thought it would be fun to host some girls who will soon be turning 8 with Sadie.  They made tons of valentines for the children's hospital.  Our RS was asking for valentines and we delivered!!  These girls had so much fun! After their valentine decorating, we frosted and sprinkled some heart cookies.

I love making valentines for my love ones.  I got started on Chase's a few weeks ago.  I was so excited to give it to him when it was all done.  It's the one time of year I really get to be crafty.

Got these cards from Pinterest.  Cut them out, Sadie and Jack wrote out the names, and glued on some chocolate.  Jack was so excited about the Reeses heart, he wrote one out for himself.

I get really excited about silly little things.  I know I'm a little weird, but I absolutely just LOVE that all of Jack's valentines fit in this little heart box.  Perfectly!!

I also LOVE this tree down the street from my house.  It produces these 3D shells that look make three hearts when opened. My kids love opening them and throwing the black nuts into the road.  They get really excited about silly little things too:-).

Chase made Valentines for the girls in the family and I covered the boys.  This is the one I made for my patriotic, flag loving little George.  He got so excited about it whenever he saw it on the mantle.

For my Star Wars loving Jack, this is what I came up with.
Jack thought it was awesome.

My sweet Chase was up until 1 a.m. making my card.  It's his best ever!!

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!
