Summer!!

We decided to stick around Texas a little longer this summer than we usually do.  Chase has his 20th high school reunion in August, so heading to Utah any earlier seemed kind of silly.  Having all three kids home, everyday, was a bit of a struggle but we managed with the help of lots of trips to the pool, play dates and just keeping cool by whatever means available.  Daddy came home from work one day and we got out Jack's new sprinkler head that Pops and CC gave him for his birthday.  We had a blast!!

I love George's hilarious expressions and Sadie in those silly goggles.

Of course George is holding his Texas flag:-)

Happy Summer y'all.  I hope we make it to the end of August with the help of lots of lazy mornings sleeping in, no agenda, and a little PBS to keep us sane.

Jack's Swim Party

Sadie's party was such a breeze to throw, we thought we'd repeat it again for Jack's birthday.  It was equally as easy to execute!!  I love parties NOT at my house. We showed up a little early, hung up some balloons, and waited for our guests to arrive.
Jack was beyond thrilled to finally be able to celebrate HIS day.  It's hard when everyone else has a birthday before you.  Having a late May birthday can require a great deal of patience.

I decided against candy party favors again and we hit the dollar spot for more flip flops and this time around we bought some super soakers.  The only riff we had in the party planning department was when Chase was sent to pick up the cake and came back with one of the most hideous cakes I've ever seen.  I had ordered light blue and "summer colored" polka dots and they sent Chase home with the darkest blue (almost black) frosting and florescent green dots.  It also said "Happy Birthday Jake" on it.  Chase didn't look at the cake before he brought it back.  Hilarious!  Luckily, they whipped another one up before the party started and it turned out exactly how I wanted it to.  Just smaller, so the kids got slivered pieces.  Oh well:-)

They had too much fun to care about the size of their cake!!  We moved this party to the newer pool in our neighborhood which I thought would be better for younger kiddos who still aren't the best swimmers.  The splash pad was a big hit!!

Sadie measured 48 inches for the first time that day too, so she spent most of her time going down the most coveted slide that she could FINALLY ride!!

George just ran around like a hooligan and didn't really care about Jack, his cake or Sadie's accomplishment of finally being tall.

Jack was a hooligan too.  I could barely get a picture of him he was running around so much!

These boys!! How funny do kids look in goggles?!

Time for cake!!

Seriously love this boy soooo much!!

The cake was delish!!  Some were even seen licking their plates clean:-)

Then we played "heavy heavy hangover" and opened presents.

I absolutely LOVE Chase's reaction to Jack's presents.

Had to get a group photo of all these wet little tykes.

Dad's had fun too.  Happy birthday Jack!! Can we do this again next year too?
