Well...we had a fun month!! After birthday parties, spring break and St. Patty's day, we were all tuckered out!!
Spent an entire afternoon down at town lake. These four!!! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!
Morning snuggles with my Jack before he goes to preschool. I can hardly stand that he's old enough to go to Kindergarten this fall. It makes me so sad thinking of not having time for morning snuggles anymore. This boy owns my heart!!
This boy too!! George decided to paint but couldn't quite figure out that the brush goes in the paint, not the stick holding the brush:-).
Chase took me to Wicked after our third attempt over the last 5 years. Our babysitter got sick AGAIN this time around but we were still able to go when she sent her husband over instead. It was amazing. We sat on the front row of the balcony and there was a couple sitting next to us who were afraid of heights. Well, just the wife was. We got a pretty big kick out of her crawling on her hands and knees to leave her seat after the play was over. She reminded me of Richard Gere on Pretty Woman who wanted the pent house view, even though he was terrified of heights, simply because "it's the best." It really was pretty fantastic. Chase and I also got a pretty big kick out of the fact that this picture makes him look like an elf. Look at his ear!! Ha ha!
We mocked the ladies in front of us who did a cheesy pose of whispering in each other's ears. Then we did the same thing. We're nerdy and very unoriginal.
We went to another play a few days later with the other moms and daughters in the ward. Sadie and I went to see Beauty and the Beast because one of our young women, Megan Bench, landed the lead role of Belle. It was so fun going on a mommy/Sadie date with Sades. She is so pleasant when Jack and George aren't around for her to tease. After the play, all the little girls encompassed Megan and gave her big hugs. Us moms got a little teary as we watched them all look up to and admire sweet Megan. What a great role model for them!
I volunteered to drive for Jack's field trip mainly because I don't trust a random mom I don't know to drive my precious Jack, but also so we could hang out with him all day! We went to the Austin Nature Center and saw some pretty cool things including a fox!!
George was just happy to be running around outside even though it was a bit chilly.
The next day they had a party at Jack's school to kick off Spring Break.
Normally I wouldn't feel the need to go but they hired Fry Farms to bring their animals and I thought George would get a kick out of seeing them too. He did!! It was so fun watching them both interact with the cute baby animals.
Ponies!
And especially bunnies!! Jack was so sweet with his bunny that it fell asleep in his arms and never tried to get away. George, on the other hand, had to be helped when holding the bunnies. He would have picked one up by the ears if I didn't stop him! Poor bunnies! Poor adorable, fluffy little bunnies. So fun!!
George's little lips, chubby cheeks and long eyelashes are KILLING me in this picture. I want to jump through my screen and kiss him!!
Chaser left us for a few days of Spring Break. We knew he'd be back on Tuesday but that didn't stop us from trying to make him stay:-) We kept ourselves busy going to the aquarium, free movies at the Alamo, and pizza parties at night before we watched a movie. Dad finally came back after what seemed an eternity and all was right in the world again.
We packed up the car the took off to San Antonio for the rest of Spring Break with some other fun families from the ward. Sea World was the destination and we had a blast!!
Looking at fishies, sharks and penguins. Don't you wish you could be a fish looking at George (or Jack) from the other side of the glass?
Sadie brought her camera and took tons of "fascinating" photos. That girl cracks me up! She filmed almost the entire Shamu show. She was so excited!!
And these two look more and more like each other every day.
Here we are saving seats at the dolphin show. You wouldn't believe how many countries are represented at good old sea world. Such an interesting plethora of people. I could sit on a bench and watch them all day. Forget Shamu. I want to watch the kids and their bubble machines, the people fighting over saved seats, the people gnawing on a massive turkey leg and especially the scantily clad whose muffin top should otherwise persuade them to cover up for pity's sake. Such a lovely diverse world we live in.
Spring break meant it was pretty crowded but that didn't stop us from standing in line anyway for the Shamu rollercoaster. They loved it!!
Sadie decided to go brave on us and rode the HUGE rollercoaster that scared the likes of her parents to the very bone. She decided that because she was tall enough she would go with me. I knew it would scare the living daylights out of her but I was so excited about her bravery that we went anyway. She might have been tall enough but I still had the slightest worry that because she's so small, she would slip out of the seat belt and fall out! I ended up holding onto her arm the entire time (which can be kind of tricky when you're holding on for dear life as well:-) while Sadie kept telling me over and over again "I don't like this mom." This she was saying pretty calmly (probably in shock) while her tiny body is being whipped around and her hair is flying in all sorts of directions. She probably hated it but was SOOOO proud of herself for riding it even though she was scared. She didn't hate it enough to pass up another chance to ride with her Dad. This was after we bribed her with a souvenir from the shop next door. So proud of our Sadie Lady. I love it when our children are brave!
I was pretty brave too considering the last time I went on a rollercoaster was way back when I was on the birth control, that didn't work, that I started taking when we first got married 9 years ago. The pill made me so sick I worried that my love for rollercoasters and thrill seeking would be coming to an end. Melanie and Melissa encouraged me to try again and it was actually awesome. I wasn't sick at all. Just felt like I was 20 again which is even more awesome. I might look slightly Asian when the ride pic snaps a photo, but that doesn't mean I wasn't LOVING it!!
We switched off watching each other's kids so we could ride with our hubbies. I was more entertained by Chase's laugh than the actual rollercoaster. This guy could make me giggle anytime or anywhere but his laugh is what really gets me going. It's hilariously contagious!!
The hotel was pretty fun too. Lots of swimming and hot tubbing. We played this game where I stood at the side of the pool and swung the kiddos into the pool for Chase to catch. Even little George was getting thrown into the pool. He loved it!!
Here's the crew right before we headed to the cars to go home. It's not a complete picture without the Robison clan who left a few hours prior. Such a fun group of kids and parents!!
We got a little creative for St. Patrick's Day this year.
Of course we did the usual green footprints and gold coins but this year the animals were hung from the banister for trying to stop the leprechauns from messing up the house
We managed the vandalize the children without waking them up. I could paint a mural on Jack he's such a sound sleeper. Sadie is a little harder and moves around a lot.
George was skipped last year because he's by far our lightest sleeper. We did a pretty good job this year but came VERY close to waking him up.
Sadie and Jack were furious!! Especially after seeing all their animals tied up!
George was just excited that they left chocolate coins all over the house.
Chase and I went to Jack Allen's Kitchen for our 9th anniversary (best food ever!) and decided after taking a few selfies that we look WAY better without glasses. We've been curious about Lasik surgery lately. Many of our friends have had good experiences and we like it when others can be our guinea pigs. I'm all for it but Chase is a little terrified. He's lived his whole life being blind and the routine of contacts and glasses is completely ingrained into his daily routine. He's not sure he's ready to take that step. I on the other hand, can't wait!! I hate that I lose my glasses nearly three times a day and that I need them to see the road and television but not to do everyday things. It's never been worth it to me to get contacts but wearing glasses underneath my sunglasses while I drive is just getting ridiculous!! The convenience of being able to see perfectly sounds almost too good to be true!!
To wrap up the month of March I headed to the San Antonio temple with these lovely ladies. It was a late night and we didn't get home until 1 a.m. but it was totally worth it!!
