We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! The Hursts were kind enough to host yet again and we had a ton of families cooking and sharing their delicious recipes. I love all these people so much. They are like family to me as we are away from our loved ones. They make each holiday so special and overwhelmingly bearable. It's so fun that we don't ever feel tempted to go back to Utah!
Ben taking great care to carve Jen's scrumptious turkey.
Time to eat!! This year I made my stuffed mushrooms again but used Jenny's stuffing recipe. They were SOOO much yummier. I also made more stuffing and some roasted veggies (also Jenny's recipes). We also had Chase's cousin from Dallas come down for a short weekend visit. He was a whiz in the kitchen with me and made some awesome mashed potatoes. I also mastered my mom's French Silk Pie for the first time EVER!! It's chucked full of whipped raw eggs but this prego lady ate a piece anyway, because it's French Silk Pie for Pete's sake. I was happy there were so many desserts because I was able to bring most of the pumpkin pie home that I also made. We thoroughly enjoyed that with our other leftovers. Is there anything better than Thanksgiving leftovers? Probably only the Thanksgiving meal itself can trump.
Dinner was so yummy I was almost sad I was too pregnant to have room for more!!
George glued himself to Peter the whole day and nearly the whole weekend. He took his hand and kept leading him where he wanted him to go saying "c'mon!" Peter was such a good sport!! He received a tour of the Hurst's entire home via George.
Thankfully Peter got a little break when G and his buddy Ryder watched garbage trucks on YouTube.
While Peter was here we decided to test out the new backyard fireplace. We made some mouth watering s'mores and ended up with chocolate all over our faces!!
We also took Peter to Barton Creek. Everyone had a great time but George. He was mad about something here. Wish I could (or not) remember:-)
