The youth in our ward babysit twice a year for free so us parents can go to the temple. It's pretty awesome. We just drop the kids off at the wardhouse next to the temple and then we have two hours of complete peace. The drive is around 2 hours (with pit stops) and even though we had a few hiccups along the way, we made it on time (miracle of miracles).
Hiccup number one: Sadie was furious about the outfit I made her wear. I had to take a picture because she'll probably never wear it again. If only she knew how cute she looks!
Second hiccup: well I can't really call it a hiccup. We HAD to stop at Buccees on the way and get my Spanish candy. I also had to get this hat. It looks better on George.
Hiccup number three: we created our own hiccup so we could soak up a little more time without screaming kids. The grounds are beautiful (and peaceful:-)
Once reunited, we thought it would be fun to let them "touch" the temple, even though they couldn't go inside. They thought that was pretty cool.
Dough Pizzeria. We couldn't pass it up. It tasted sooooo good the last time we were in town so we stopped by again. The kids got to play with dough instead of paper and crayons (genius idea) and I tried to remember why I loved the food so much (everything tastes better when you're pregnant:-)
We also thought it would be fun to forget bedtime and head over to the Riverwalk so the kids could see it for the first time. They LOVED it!
