We bought a house!!

We only waited 8 years before we bought a house and I'm so glad we did!!  The wait was TOTALLY worth the beautiful home we now call ours.  Now that the housing market has recovered a little we got ourselves a fantastic APR. I still remember contemplating buying a home in the other areas we've lived when the APR was close to 8%.  Now was the perfect time to buy.  All the stars aligned and now we feel all grown up!  We've been renting the home from the Scott family for the last two years.  After many meetings and negotiations with them, we finally decided on a price (which is tricky because we're friends from church and we have to be super polite:-).  The house needs a lot of "polishing."  First thing we want to do is put in a new patio in the back, paint EVERYTHING inside, and put in new floors.  It will be fun to put up some before and after pictures this coming year. 

We probably should have gotten a babysitter but didn't think it would take too long to sign a few papers.  The boys were so patient (kind of...George about lost it and then fell asleep in the stroller).  After three hours, we walked out as the new owners! Chase looks totally freaked out in this picture. I think he just realized he signed his life away:-) Jack, like always, was just along for the ride. 

The best part of buying this house was that we didn't have to move!!  So instead of packing boxes and stressing ourselves to the max, we went to Rudy's and made our Texas residence official by scarfing down on some BBQ. 

....and chocolate pudding which is what Jack was most excited about.
