We rang in the new year partying with the Strongs and Gordons. It was cozy and low key, which is exactly what this pregnant mommy wanted.
Kids decided sparklers and fireworks were worth the torture of venturing out into the freezing temps. I stayed inside.
We thought we'd go home around 10 but George was such a champ we stayed for the countdown. Jack lasted until midnight but not a minute more.
The next morning the kids were already begging to eat up the gingerbread house and we FINALLY gave them some tablets we got them for Christmas. We decided to wait to give them such an exciting gift after they had time to enjoy the other toys they received. We also gave them two pages of "tablet rules." Rooms must be clean, homework done, and practicing done etc. before any screen time is earned. It's been pretty amazing how much they love doing their chores now!!
