Sadie's "lateover" party

Ever since we finished the fireplace outside, Sadie has been dying to have her friends over for a s'mores night and a movie.  We thought it would be the perfect birthday party but the weather wasn't about to cooperate.  We decided to decorate the inside of the house, just in case it did rain on her parade, but planned on having all the girls outside until it did.
Sadie loved putting together her party favors.  We thought glow sticks, light up 80's glasses and lip gloss would be fun for the movie outside.  We just kept hoping and praying that it wouldn't rain!!

The plan was to eat some pizza, do a little karaoke, roast some s'mores, tell some spooky stories and then camp out on the trampoline while we watched a movie outside with homemade popcorn.

Karaoke was a hit!!  There was an insane amount of noise coming from my house during this portion of the party.  So many little girls.  So many giggles, screaming, and singing.
SO MUCH NOISE!!
I love this picture of all of them with their heads together.  They were laughing because I was wearing a dress and had to hike it between my legs so I wouldn't flash anyone.  I also can't help but itch my head when I see all those heads together.  It's a lice infestation just waiting to happen!

It still hadn't rained so we headed outside for some s'mores.
These girls were so cute telling their spooky stories (that really weren't too spooky:-).  I told the one about the woman with the green ribbon around her neck.  They weren't even scared by the fact that her head fell off when she removed the ribbon.  Just totally grossed out!!

A little bit of cake and it was time to start the movie.  We couldn't believe it still hadn't rained.
Hip hip hooray!!

We borrowed a projector from the Cottams and watched Big Hero 6.  Kids loved it and it ended up being a glorious night to be outside.  Perfect weather!!

Sadie opened all her presents just as the parents started showing up to pick up the girls.  I kept thinking about those poor mothers who host actual sleepover parties.  The party was 4 hours long and I couldn't have imagined it going any longer.  Either these women are super charged or complete idiots.  4 hours is enough for me!  Sadie had a great time and many giggles were shared.  Love her so much.  Glad she was able to pull off her "favorite birthday party ever!!"
