Mike and Cate went to New York this last weekend and we were on duty to watch all their kids. This may look like a real challenge but it was actually quite pleasant. In reality, it was easier taking care of 8 than 2. Sadie ran off with Grace the entire time so she was totally taken care of. Jack just crawled around and played with all of their toys. Richie and
MJ are pretty much mini adults. They helped with
everything including making meals and watching the younger boys. I should really include Nathan in the grown up category. When I woke up Saturday morning this 9 year old was making waffles for his three younger siblings. The three little guys were the only ones who needed looking after and they were great the whole time. Like I said before, 8 is easier than 2. Lucky for us we turned out better than John and Kate and their 8.
Too much fun for Sadie. She had more media exposure than she usually gets in a whole week. She also ate more sugar than she does in a whole month. Pretty much, she was in heaven!! I guess when you have 8 you can't possibly monitor all they digest.
P.S. Cate and Mike were in the heart of Time Square during the car bomb threat. They ended up not being able to sleep in their hotel that night and finally found a place to sleep at 2 a.m. As easy as 8 was, I was glad the bomb didn't get the better of them. We need you Mike and Cate!!
